Day 1: We're in Manila

We arrived in Manila safely today at the crack of dawn after a long flight from LA. A perfect symbol for the new beginning that this journey will bring. According to the schedule from ICAB, this is day 1. Nothing happens today, other than our arrival. Tomorrow is our official meeting day with ICAB and CRIBS at the foster family's home. Thinking of going to the nearby mall. According to the reports we received at her referral, baby K is living approximately 5-10 minutes away from where we are staying. According to my friend, who we are staying with here in Dasmarinas Village in Makati, there is a huge playground in the mall where local kiddies like to go on weekends. It's Sunday here, I wonder if my little girl goes there to play. Thinking of going there and in the off chance, spot a beautiful little angel, who is my daughter. Far-fetched, I know...but one can hope, right?

  1. You have finally arrived in Manila although I know your heart has been there already for the past several months. It won't be long now and you will finally be meeting your daughter. I will be asleep in my bed and your life will be totally changing. You will be meeting your daughter!!! I am so happy for you guys and I hope that you did get to see Kitin at the playground!!!! What a special treat that would have been! The next time you post you will probably have Kitin sitting on your lap helping you out. I can't wait!!!! I thinking of you guys and praying that all goes well. Take care mama!

  2. So close! Counting the hours with you. After all this time, you really made it, and we are rejoicing with you! May today pass quickly and painlessly for you so that when you awake tomorrow you can enjoy your most precious gift. Praying for you all, and for a smooth transition.

  3. The final countdown is on! Wouldn't that be a sweet and wonderful gift to see your wee girl playing at the playground! Thinking of you and lifting you up in my prayers.

  4. Congratulations! I just found your blog and I was thrilled to see the word CRIBS pop up in your entries. We brought our son home from there in 2008. What a great orphanage! I believe you said your little girl is in foster care, but I get goosebumps when I find connections with CRIBS as I haven't found many!

May the Lord bless you and your new family. Hope your trip is AMAZING! :-)
